Märt Rask will continue his work at RASK as an advisor.
RASK's partner, Märt Rask, has decided to end his more than quarter-century-long career as an attorney-at-law and step down from the Estonian Bar Association. Märt will continue his work at RASK as an advisor.
Märt has made significant contributions to the establishment and development of the RASK Attorneys-at-Law for over 10 years. In addition to his professional activities, such as advising on the pharmacy reform case and serving as a legal expert for the Republic of Estonia in the dispute with Tallinna Vesi at the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), Märt's experience has been invaluable to other RASK partners in fulfilling the role of owner of the law firm.
"The time is right for this step. I have reached an age where I prefer to talk about the work of an attorney-at-law and the role of a partner rather than doing it firsthand. The firm is currently in a good momentum - a talented group of partners, a team with great energy, and sustained growth. It's time to enjoy the situation," explains Märt his decision. "Moreover, I believe in lifelong learning. The role of an advisor is one I have yet to fulfill in life!"
In addition to his more than 25 years as an attorney-at-law and co-founding the law firm Teder and RASK with Indrek Teder from 1993 to 2003, Märt has played a significant role in shaping the legal system of re-independent Estonia. His long career includes serving four terms as a minister in the Government of the Republic of Estonia and nine years as both the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court and the Chairman of its Constitutional Review Chamber.
"We have been fortunate to benefit from Märt's extensive experience in building the firm," said RASK partner Tarmo Peterson. "Although he has decided to step down from practicing as an attorney, Märt has been our 'advisor' in terms of being an attorney and running the firm since the first day he joined us, and I believe this will continue."
