RASK Attorney-at-Law Gea Vendel conducted a Public Procurement seminar
On May 31, 2018, one of the most important public procurement conferences took place in Tallinn.
In September 2017, a new public procurement law entered into force in Estonia, which is rather complex and makes the public procurement process even more nuanced. The conference, which what was held in late May, provided participants with important information the new law brought upon. Also, some practical examples were given to clarify the procurement even more.
This year’s public procurement seminar was led by RASK’s attorney-at-law and public procurement expert Gea Vendel, who also conducted a panel discussion at the end of the conference to discuss Single Procurement Document and procurement’s qualifications and its weak points.
Gea Vendel: „Last year, over 10 000 government procurement contracts totaled over 2 billion euros. It is often not recognized that this amount is approximately the same as the state contributes to education and the economy (0.8 + 1.1 billion respectively). Therefore, public procurement is definitely an important topic whose development and problems are worth keeping in mind, especially for those who come across with it often, such as entrepreneurs.“
