24.11 Seminar of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry: Personal liability of a member of the Management Board in liquidation of the company's tax debts

Villy Lopman, partner of the law firm RASK, and Annika Soom, attorney-at-law, will speak at a seminar of the Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry on November 24. Who is responsible for the tax debt arising in the company? Year by year, the circle of persons responsible for the operation of the company and the lawful payment of taxes has expanded. The approach of the Tax and Customs Board in making liability decisions has also changed. While in 2013 the MTA won 56.3% of the liability decision disputes in court, in 2019 this number was already 85.5%.

Due to the complicated economic circumstances, it is important to be aware of personal liability as a member of the company's management body. . The MTA no longer simply writes off the tax debt incurred and may demand payment from persons other than the company.
