RASK advised on a unique merger of non-profit organizations in Estonia

Case

Attorneys-at-law Annika Vait and Artur Sanglepp from law firm RASK successfully advised on the merger of two long-standing organizations – the Responsible Business Forum (VEF) and the Network of Social Enterprises (SEV). As a result of the merger, the newly formed organization will continue operations under the new name Kestliku Ettevõtluse Liit KELL (Sustainable Business Association KELL), now representing 125 members. It is likely one of the largest third-sector organizations promoting sustainability in Estonia.

RASK’s lawyers provided legal counsel throughout the entire merger process. Since the transaction involved the merger of non-profit organizations, it was a rare and, therefore, legally challenging case in the Estonian legal landscape.

A new management board has also been appointed for the Sustainable Business Association KELL, including RASK partner Villy Lopman among its members.
