RASK advised UP Catalyst on securing €18 million in funding from the European Investment Bank

Case

Law firm RASK advised Estonian greentech company UP Catalyst on securing €18 million in funding from the European Investment Bank (EIB). This marks one of the largest funding projects in Estonia’s green technology sector, aimed at scaling up the production of CO₂-based graphite and carbon nanotubes.

RASK’s team supported the client throughout the entire transaction process, including the structuring of the financing agreement, negotiations, and drafting of contractual terms. The funding will enable UP Catalyst to increase its production of high-performance carbon materials, contributing to Europe’s independence from critical raw materials and the achievement of climate goals.

The transaction was led by RASK partner and head of the technology sector practice, Timo Kullerkupp, alongside attorney-at-law Artur Sanglepp.
